It turned off, so I had to plug it back to charge and then hit the power button above the keyboard. It turned on and got me to the regular sign-in page where I signed in with Windows Hello. I think this may have happened perhaps once a while ago. I’ve checked a few other forum posts here and on other sites and have seen answers ranging from malware issues to old batteries.

I’m currently running a full scan as I write this. I’ve never tweaked any of these above settings, but I hope they could point to why my laptop locked instead of hibernated, or didn’t warn me about the low battery.

What happened to you was just a hibernation, but before entering the hibernation mode, it locked. When the PC locks, you see the sign-in screen and have to enter the password or use Windows Hello to continue using the PC from where you were before locking.
